How to sign up for Discord with a temp mail address

Does Discord accept a disposable email?
Frequently, yes. Discord screens disposable domains and the list it uses is neither complete nor static, so some domains sail through and others are refused at the form. Switching domain in Fade and retrying is the fix, and it usually works within a couple of attempts.
Discord verifies with a link rather than a numeric code, so the important part is opening the message before the address expires. Extend the address first if you expect to be slow.
Why you would want to
- A one-conversation server. A game community, a project support server, a Discord-only launch. You need an account for one thing and no relationship afterwards.
- Keeping communities separate. A shared email address is the thing that links two accounts together. A different address is what actually separates them.
- Reducing the blast radius. Discord has been breached before, as has almost every platform at this scale. An address that has already expired is not useful to anyone in a dump.
- Fewer product emails. Discord is not the worst offender, but it does mail you.
The phone verification wall

A large share of active Discord servers enable a verification level that requires members to have a verified phone number before they can post. Discord itself also prompts for a phone number on accounts it considers suspicious, and a brand new account on a disposable address fits that description.
No email service can get past this, Fade included. If the server you were invited to has phone verification on, a throwaway account will let you read and not much else.

The account is disposable too
Register with a free disposable address and you are accepting a specific trade: when the address expires, the account is no longer recoverable. Forget the password, get logged out, or lose the device and there is no reset path.
For a server you will visit twice, that is fine and arguably the point. If you end up actually using the account, move it: change the email on the account to a reserved address and enable two-factor authentication with an authenticator app so recovery no longer depends on email.
If the verification link never arrives
- Wait ninety seconds before requesting a resend.
- Check the address has not expired, and extend it if the timer is low.
- Make sure you pasted the address rather than typing it.
- Switch domain and register again. If Discord refused the domain at the form, no mail was sent and resending changes nothing.
